DELEGATEs ENDORSE 13 IN CLEVELAND MUNICIPAL RACES

The delegates present at the July Delegate Meeting voted to endorse candidates that best demonstrated a commitment to the values and principles of our 80,000 members.

The endorsements include nine incumbents in Jones, Bishop, McCormack, Griffin, Hairston, Mooney, Santana, Spencer, and Slife. The endorsements also include former Mayor and U.S. Congressman Dennis Kucinich. Kucinich who held a perfect labor voting record during his 16 years in Congress, voting with the AFL-CIO preferred position 100% of the time. Ohio House District 11 Representative Stephanie Howse is running for Ward 7. The endorsements also include two political newcomers in Rebecca Maurer and Kate Warren. 

Maurer is an attorney who previously served as a fellow at the Legal Aid Society of Cleveland where she worked on lead-safe housing policy. Warren is a research fellow at The Center for Community Solutions in Cleveland where she is focusing on policy that improves health and social conditions in Cleveland.
