Delegates of the North Shore Federation of Labor, AFL-CIO present at the September 10, 2025 delegate meeting voted on endorsements for candidates and issues appearing on the November 4th general election ballot. These 31 candidates join our previously endorsed candidates in best demonstrating a commitment to the values and principles of our 80,000 members.

Amongst the endorsed candidates are union members. From union halls to city halls and boards of education, these candidates know what it means to deliver real, measurable benefits for working people - and for communities as a whole.

Union members receiving endorsement:

  • Berea Board of Education: Ana Chapman (AFT Local 1486)
  • Berea Board of Education: Rick Mack (AFT Local 279R)
  • Cleveland Municipal Court Judge: Nikki McGowan (AFSCME Local 3631)
  • Independence City Council: Sarah Szweda (SEIU District 1199)
  • North Olmsted Board of Education: Daniel Rahm (OAPSE Local 304)

Candidates Tony Cuda, Cleveland Heights City Council and Maggie Cook, Mentor Board of Education, are proud members of the Ohio Education Association. Candidates representing union households are Maureen Carr, North Olmsted City Council Ward 4 (Boilermakers Local 744) and Brian Cook, Mentor City Council at Large (OEA).
